Mainland Plant Hire operates a wide range of equipment from five tonne mini diggers to 40 tonne excavators, dozers and dump trucks. It has a policy of using the latest machinery available, the majority of which is new or under two years old. The equipment is available with a fully trained operator or as a self-drive option. The plant fleet is used to support the Group’s other construction divisions as well as the external plant hire market.

To compliment the modern fleet Mainland Plant Hire employs fully trained, time served and experienced operators all of whom possess CPCS qualifications. This forms part of the company's commitment to continuous training and self-development of employees. Regular safety seminars and toolbox talks form an integral part of the training function. Many operators possess Railtrack PTS certification and all are fully mobile with vans issued by the company.
